T-Shirt With a Twist

Start with your favourite basic T-shirt pattern, slice it up the back and add this gorgeous design feature.  It looks like a million dollars but you will be amazed how easy it is to create.  This view is of a sleeveless top but, of course, you can add sleeves if you wish.

SUPPLIES

• Light-weight knit fabric of your choice. Plain colours will show off the weaving at the back to best advantage but small prints can work as well.  Allow an extra 25cm  for the pieces in the back.
• Tear-away stabiliser (commonly used for machine embroidery) - approximately 15 cm wide by 70 cm long.
• Fusible stay tape for shoulder seams
