Parisienne Shopping Tote

Wouldn't you just love a shopping trip in Paris?  If that's not possible, how about this gorgeous Parisienne shopping tote that folds up into a pouch?  It's super easy to sew; the extra little twist is the pretty picture.  You get to print this yourself - on fabric, using freezer paper and an inkjet printer.

With more and more shops going plastic bag free, it's a good idea to carry one of these with you at all times.  This project is suitable for beginner sewists and is a fun sew for the more experienced.  Warning - you may not be able to stop at just one.  Make a few for yourself or whip up a dozen as Christmas gifts.

Choose from one of these images or use your own favourite photo.  These four images will be included in your instruction pack.  You will get all the instructions you need to print an image onto an A4 size piece of fabric.

Supplies

    • 1 metre good quality quilting weight fabric (112cm wide).  Don't be tempted to economize with cheap fabric as you may not achieve good results printing your image or even worse, you may jam up your printer.
    • 10 cm contrast fabric
    • Kam snap (optional)
    • Freezer paper

The tote will be based on a FREE pattern from Moments by Liz.   The construction method will be a bit different and, of course, you will be adding the printed image.  It is not necessary to order the pattern; your sew-along instructions will have all the information you require.

A word about freezer paper.  There are a number of brands available and they are all pretty much the same quality.  Some of the better known brands are Reynolds, Birch and SewEasy.  Spotlight stores in Australia carry all 3 brands but not all stores carry all brands.  Punch With Judy sells Reynolds.  Most shops that specialise in quilting fabrics will sell freezer paper.  If all else fails, Mr Google will help you locate something near  you.
